As Built Data Capture
Digital can provide high accuracy as built data capture using the latest 3D laser scanning phased based laser solutions. Design plans rarely give a true interpretation of an installation and for older facilities which have been constantly modified; they will probably bare no resemblance. Laser scanning is able to quickly and very accurately capture exact dimensions and deformations of sites and equipment. From complex piping runs to manifolds and vessels we can capture the real life environment with minimal disruptions, preventing costly shut downs.
Once the data has been processed and registered we can look at providing the best solution for your current setup. If you are used to working in 3D and have the correct software or plug-ins we will provide you with clean accurate point clouds. Alternatively we can model out the specific areas of interest and provide solid models that will load smoothly into your 3D design package.
By providing an exact as built model dimensions can be checked for accuracy against the design plans or the model can be used to accurately design new modifications and check for clash detection. This enables a first time fit strategy for engineers and vastly reduces costs on refits.
Working from a point cloud we can transform the data to solid polygon models and complex meshes and NURB surfaces using triangulation.
