National Oilwell Varco – Manifold Survey

Digital have been working with National Oilwell Varco company Anson to provide dimensional control services on the production of their Manifolds. Anson offer a full design and manufacture of manifolds which are use on offshore installations around the globe. As part of their QA procedure Digital have been providing AS-Built data capture. Once the Manifolds have been scanned key dimensions are checked against the design plans and any difference in tolerances documented.

3D laser scanning has been carried out using both a Lecia Scanstation 2 and an HDS61000. Data is processed and cleaned in cyclone before being brought into AutoCAD using Cloudworx. Once in AutoCAD an new UCS is determined setting a datum to the same as that of the origin design plans. XYZ values for all the main areas can then be extracted and compared against the acceptable tolerances.
